Event description

Macramé, or the art of knotting, has had a solid revival since the 70s. It’s easy, affordable, you don’t need any tools and you can spice up any room with a piece of wall art or planter.

In this class we’ll learn some basic knots while doing a trendy wall art. No experience necessary! 


What will we cover?

We’ll be learning:

  • How to design your macrame wall hanger before starting
  • What materials work best
  • Basic knots such as:
    • half square knot,
    • square knot,
    • hitch/ half hitch,
    • Reverse larkshead.

Who will be teaching?

Maria (she/her) is a serial crafter. She loves learning about new crafts and techniques! She does crochet, macrame, sewing, pottery, weaving and likes to explore how these crafts can be combined and expanded.
In addition to plants and crafting, she also has a passion for cooking and baking, light painting and running Laneway Learning.
