MAD Must Go with Senator Alex Antic
Event description
We're thrilled to welcome Senator Alex Antic to our forum to discuss the MAD Bill.
Monday, 18 November at 7.00PM AEDT
The MAD Bill has passed through the House of Representatives, and by the 18th November, may well be the topic of rigorous debate in the Senate. The Senate is our last chance to stop the MAD Bill in its tracks, it's imperative we inform ourselves of the details of the Bill, and understand how it may impact Australians and their ability to speak and communicate freely.
“I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.” - Voltaire
The Aligned Council of Australia is delighted to host this very special webinar; Katie Ashby-Koppens with Jody Clune, founder of NERA (National Electoral Representatives Alignment), and Senator Alex Antic.
Join our trio of experts on Monday 18 November at 7.00PM AEDT to unpack the proposed Communications Legislation Amendment (Combating Misinformation and Disinformation) Bill 2024 (aka MAD Bill), and to hear how Senator Antic is involved and taking action.
In a free society, the right to express ideas and opinions without fear of government censorship is fundamental. The proposed MAD Bill risks stifling open dialogue and preventing Australians from accessing diverse viewpoints. We must protect the integrity of what we can say, what we can share, and what we choose to believe. We must stop this Bill...MAD Must Go!
