Artist Talks on Textiles at Wireless Hill Yagan Mia Museum

We are delighted to invite you to a special public talk featuring two distinguished figures in the world of textiles: Maggie Baxter and Molly Ryan.

We’re excited to announce a unique public talk featuring Maggie Baxter and Molly Ryan. These art talks will offer insights into textile art, fast fashion as well as Indian traditional textiles and European textile art, focusing in part on Body Narratives, an exhibition currently running as part of the IOTA Triennial and curated by Baxter. Body Narratives is a showcase of anti-fashion body adornments and also features work by Molly Ryan.

Maggie Baxter is a renowned curator, artist, writer and public art coordinator. She primarily works with block pricing, and through the past decade has based her work on text, real and invented, poetic messages of nothing and concise commentary sometimes using embroidery, stitch and thread.

Molly Ryan is a local and international award-winning textile artist, researcher, and educator focused on understanding people's relationships with textiles through practice-led research.

Tea provided.
