THE CHIEFTAIN presents...

Maggie’s Delight

SATURDAY 25 OCTOBER 6.30pm-9pm - Doors Open from 6pm

Celtic music has had a deep and lasting impact on Australian culture. The music is inspirational, filled with emotion, determination, joy, love and loss. Through time and travel, Celtic music has powerfully influenced Australian music to reflect the beautiful unity of the two worlds – one of new beginnings through adversity.

Tonight, Maggie’s Delight world class *ceoltóirí will keep you enthralled with their Celtic Australian music – music that invokes both nostalgia and jubilation… or indeed, Delight!

Jim McGuire – Lead Vocals, Electric/Acoustic Guitar, Mandolin, Fiddle

McGuire has a long history in music with a repertoire that includes traditional Scottish and Irish music, Blues, Jazz and Opera.  He trained in tenor voice under renowned ABC soprano Shirley Flesfader and Andrew Foote of West Australian Opera; and studied guitar at the academy of music in Edinburgh and with Manuel Charlton of Nazareth and master acoustic guitarist Bernard Carney.

Rebecca Lodge – Fiddle and Vocals

Lodge is a classically trained violinist with a flair for Celtic/Australian music. She has performed in various orchestras in America and Australia. Lodge is an outstanding fiddle player and has lovely vocals.

David Hoffman – Accordion

Hoffman is without doubt, one of the best and most versatile accordion players in WA and a veteran of many music festivals throughout Australia and the world.

Tonight you will definitely be charmingly transported to another world.
