Magnificent Highlands

Saturday 4th to Friday 10th March 2023

Discover the picturesque villages, stunning landscapes, and exotic local produce on the 7-day Highlands Tour.

Day One: Saturday 4th March

Pick-ups commence by 04:30, crikey that’s early! A cuppa and comfort stop @ Heatherbrae before arriving at Chang Lai Yuan Gardens, Doonside to stretch our legs and have morning tea. The gardens are located within Nurragingy Reserve. A picturesque garden featuring classic Chinese structures, a waterfall, lake & stone bridge. Continuing our trek South we stop for lunch at Bushranger Hotel, Collector. Arriving at Jindy Inn, Jindabyne we set up camp for the next two nights around 18:30. Dinner tonight is onsite.

Day Two: Sunday 5th March

After breakfast, we head off at 09:00 to Thredbo Village. We will take the Kosciuszko Express Chairlift up to Eagles Nest Cafe for morning tea and OMG the views! The chairlift takes about 15 minutes one way and rises 560 vertical metres, offering breathtaking alpine views down the Thredbo Valley. Time to get a move on the Wildbrumby Schnapps Distillery is calling our names for tastings and lunch. This afternoon enjoy some leisure time and explore the Village of Jindabyne or just kick back and relax. Dinner is onsite tonight.

Day Three: Monday 6th March

After breakfast we checkout and depart by 08:00. Calling into Regatta Point, Parkes for morning tea. Next stop the Australian War Memorial. We have a few hours here; you will need it! A guided tour is included. Grab a bite to eat in the onsite café for lunch (at own cost). Off to Briars Country Lodge, Burradoo for the next two nights. Dinner tonight is onsite.

Day Four: Tuesday 7th March

Heading off around 08:30 our first point of call is Fitzroy Falls Visitor Centre. Here we will have a meet n greet, wander around and a cuppa. Next stop in Bowral will be the Bradman Museum & International Cricket Hall of Fame. When you are ready it is free time to check out Bowral and grab yourself some lunch wherever you like (at own cost) and we will head out at 14:30. We cannot miss a stop in the quirky town of Berrima before heading back to the Lodge. Dinner tonight is on site.

Day Five: Wednesday 8th March

Breakfast and then time to check out around 09:00 as we head for NSW Rail Museum, Thirlmere. Here we will be guided around their amazing collection and here the stories of the rail, oh and along with morning tea and a cuppa. Our takeaway picnic lunch will be had at Warragamba Dam, Warragamba. We will have time to explore the Warragamba Dam Visitors Centre and check out the amazing Dam in action. Tonight, we settle into The Carrington Hotel, Katoomba for our last two nights. Dinner tonight is onsite.

Day Six: Thursday 9th March

Breakfast and then time to grab a photo op at Echo Point lookout (Three Sisters), Katoomba. Now you have the tourist itch out of the way we drop into Scenic World, Katoomba. On our way back to camp we stop in the beautiful Leura, look around before we grab another photo op at Govetts Leap lookout along with an afternoon cuppa. Dinner is onsite tonight.

Day Six: Friday 10th March

Well, this is it folks our last day! It is straight through to Brooklyn. Around 10:00 we commence our Sydney Oyster Farm Tour. Now you’re hungry we grab lunch at the local Anglers Rest. Our final coffee n comfort stop is at Heatherbrae before drop offs commence around 17:30.
