The Maiden

A Gathering for Young Women 16+

There comes a time when the girl begins to become her own woman.

The questions become deeper.

Her body is no longer simply something that is changing, It becomes something she is learning to inhabit, listen to and understand.

She begins to make her own choices.

To discover her voice.

To understand her boundaries.

To navigate relationships, sexuality, identity and the many expectations placed upon young women.

And yet, so often, we are expected to figure all of this out alone.

The Maiden is an invitation to gather differently.

A space for young women aged 16+ to come together without their parents or caregivers, and explore what it means to stand at this threshold of womanhood.

A space to learn.

To question.

To speak honestly.

To listen.

To laugh.

To be witnessed.

And to discover that there is wisdom in gathering with other women who are walking their own paths too.

This is not about telling you who you should become.

It is about creating the space to ask:

Who am I becoming?
What does my body need from me?
What do I believe?
What are my boundaries?
What do I want my relationships to feel like?
And what does it mean to live in a body that is wholly my own?

Through body literacy, conversation, creativity, reflection and connection, we explore the physical, emotional and relational landscape of becoming a woman.

A Note on Becoming

You do not need to have yourself figured out.

You do not need to know exactly who you are becoming.

You are allowed to change your mind.

To ask questions.

To take up space.

To have boundaries.

To be soft and strong and uncertain and sure.

There is no single way to be a woman.

This gathering is simply an invitation to pause in the becoming.

To sit amongst other young women.

To listen to what your body, your heart and your own inner knowing might be asking of you.

Because sometimes we discover ourselves more clearly when we are given the space to be witnessed by others.

And sometimes, the beginning of becoming your own woman is simply realising:

I don't have to become anyone else's version of her.

This is a space to remember that you belong to yourself.

Numbers are intentionally limited to create an intimate, respectful and supportive circle.
