Learn about the diversity and ecology of native bees with Dr Amelie Vanderstock (Amelie Ecology) and used upcycled timbers to build a bee habitat for native bees!

Amelie Vanderstock is a native bee ecologist at the University of Sydney and Hokkaido University as well as the co-creator of Let's BEE Scientists. She is currently researching the role of insect pollinators in cities. Amelie has facilitated over 100 workshops on bees and growing from seed to plate. As a permaculture designer, she is also currently designing the community garden in the new Ike-sun park in Tokyo. Passionate about growing change through art, Amelie also writes and performs original music about her research. She became an insect ecologist because she never lost her wonder at the amazing world of insects and their fascinating lives. Her dream is to share this wonder in active participatory ways with the broader community- because we are all scientists!
