Make a Seed Tray: Woodwork Power Tools 101, Kawhia Community Centre, Saturday 11 October, 2pm-5pm

Spring is nearly here!

Time to get your garden growing with our Seed Tray Making Workshop.

Join us to learn how to build an eco upcycled and natural wooden seed tray using heat treated pallet timber, ideal for sowing seeds and nurturing spring plants. You’ll head home with your own handcrafted tray. And you can plant some spring seeds to grow into seedlings in your tray to give your Spring and Summer garden a head start!

You'll learn how to:

• Deconstruct a pallet safely

• Identify heat-treated pallets that are safe for growing food

• Use tools like a jigsaw, drill, and sander confidently

• Access tools the circular, sustainable way

• Build a wooden seed tray from upcycled timber

• Plant up Spring seeds to grow into seedlings.

Please wear covered shoes and tightish clothes. You may be working outside so dress for the weather conditions and bring a drink bottle/ snacks. Please note that you need to arrive at this workshop for the beginning of class and the health and safety briefing to be able to take part in the rest of the class.

* Please note children are not able to attend with parents due to health and safety requirements, suitable for Adults, and teens 13+ with an attending adult.
