Make a wall hanging mask at SECCA. School Holiday workshop Ages 5–8
Event description
After exploring the exhibition Mariw Minaral and drawing inspiration from the intricate works of Torres Strait Islander artist Alick Tipoti, children will be guided in creating their own wall-hanging mask.
Using a variety of materials—such as cardboard, paint, raffia, beads, and feathers—participants will craft imaginative mask artworks inspired by their own totem animal that reflect their personality and identity. This hands-on session encourages creative expression while fostering respect and understanding of the cultural significance of the works on display.
