Making a rag rug is a fun, simple and satisfying craft that upcycles clothing and fabric into a unique and colourful heirloom or gift!

The Amish knot (also called toothbrush) technique is easy and requires no sewing!

It is also a great way to transform a variety of remnant, opshop and end of life fabrics including sheets and denim into something beautiful!

What will we cover?

This class will cover:

. Background to Amish knot technique and examples
. Sourcing and selecting suitable fabric
. Cutting and ripping fabric yarn
. Joining fabric strips
. How to start a round rug
. Amish knot rag rug techniques and tips
. How to finish off your rug

What should I bring?

Feel free to bring along any fabric that you would like to include in your rug and fabric scissors if you have them.

Sheets, doona covers and pillow cases are particularly good!

However, all equipment will be provided if you would just like to bring yourself!
