    Background

On March 8 in London and March 10 in Berlin, the group Make Freedom Ring organized parallel concerts to fundraise for institutions providing humanitarian aid in Gaza, as well as to generate conversation and support. Since then, several more concerts across Berlin, Manchester, and Munich have raised approximately £30,000 for various charities and foundations, such as Medical Aid for Palestinian, the Palestine Children's Relief Fund and Medico International.

These concerts were organized as a response to the classical music industry’s relative silence regarding the ongoing human casualties and loss of life in Gaza, in the hopes of not only showing support for the people of Palestine and those that are suffering, but of starting a conversation within the sector about this world event. Make Freedom Ring has mobilized musicians and artists to draw attention to the plight of Palestinians through music with the help of media coverage and the public. Please spread the word.

‘Make Freedom Ring’ has been produced by a loose collective of musicians and culture workers across London and Berlin. You can find us on Instagram @makefreedomring2024 and at makefreedomring.co.uk.

White Kite Collective are a group of grassroots cultural workers standing in support of the Palestinian people as they confront Genocide. They organise fundraiser evenings of monologues, poetry, testimony and reflection curated as spaces for collective healing and catharsis. The urgent first-hand accounts and testimonies are intended to galvanise attendees from awareness to action.

Please get in touch via on social media, by email at enquiries@makefreedomring.co.uk, or the contact option below if you would like to attend but would struggle with the ticket price (or any other enquiries)!
