Description
Some may be familiar with the basic method of screen printing using hand cut stencils with textured and patterned screens.
This weekend we will build on those skills and techniques by layering your screen print with block prints and hand painting. You are welcome to bring your own piece of natural fibre, light coloured clothing to adorn as well, upgrading it into an heirloom treasure.
The planning and practical skills involved are challenging but fun and will enhance your understanding of the design principles and elements required for breathing energy into reclaimed fabrics.
By the end of the day 1 you will have embellished a piece of fabric, (approx. 50 x 100 cm) and a piece of your own clothing. On the second day (max. 4 hours) we'll have a wonderful home sewer guide us in the transformation of your fabric into a tote, cushion, or a pot plant cover. Perfect for keeping yourself or gifting to a friend.
This small group (4) workshop is sure to leave you wanting to make lots more.
