Description

Service and Creative Skills Australia (SaCSA) invites make-up artists, employers, business owners, industry representatives and other stakeholders to participate in an online workshop exploring the future skills and workforce needs of the make-up industry.

As part of the Update of Beauty Qualifications project, this workshop will focus on the knowledge, skills, and attributes required for individuals entering and working in make-up services. Participants will be invited to share insights on current practices, client expectations, emerging trends, new products and technologies, and the capabilities needed to build a successful career in the sector.

The discussion will explore what makes a make-up artist job ready, the skills employers and clients value most, workforce challenges facing the industry, and how training can better prepare graduates for the realities of working in a range of make-up settings, including freelance, retail, bridal, fashion, editorial and creative environments.

Feedback gathered through this workshop will help inform future training products to better reflect contemporary industry practice, support workforce development and prepare learners for successful careers in the make-up industry.

We encourage participation from practising make-up artists, salon and studio owners, employers, product suppliers, industry associations, creative professionals, and others with experience in the make-up workforce.

We look forward to welcoming you and hearing your insights.
