Event description

Are you running out of space in your garden but would like to grow more varieties?

Grafting is a great solution!

Join Joe and Andrew from the Rare Fruit Society and Joe's Connected Garden for a fabulous hands-on grafting workshop.

Learn the science between grafting fruit trees and which varieties graft best on to which.

If you'd like to take home your own fruit salad tree, simply discuss your options with Joe and Andrew before the workshop and pick up the correct variety of "base" tree from the nursery to graft on to. There is a ticket option to add your scions to your ticket so you only have to pay for your tree on the day and you're all sorted.

We have a number of trees to graft for the shop, so you can still get hands-on even if you don't have space for more trees at home.

About the speakers

Andrew Thompson and Joe Kielnerowski are part of the Rare Fruit Society and run Andrew's Urban Farm and Joe's Connected Garden as places where the community can meet, learn about gardening and be inspired to grow more of their food. Both speakers are experts in horticulture and have decades of experience growing and propagating unusual and hard-to-grow varieties here in SA.
