Make your own hardwood platter
Event description
Ever wanted to get the hang of power tools but not sure where to begin? Make your own hardwood platter is a relaxed, hands-on workshop designed to help you build confidence while creating something beautiful to take home.
In previous generations, learning how to fix, make, and repair things was part of everyday life. These practical skills have been lost over time, but they’re just as valuable today. Guided by Chris, a talented local builder, you’ll learn how to safely use tools like jigsaws and sanders, then put your new skills into practice by making your own wooden platter from salvaged hardwood.
You’ll leave with a finished piece you can be proud of, and the know-how to take on repair or repurpose projects at home.
Join us at the Wānaka Community Workshop on Wednesday 19 November, 6–9pm. Tickets are $45 per person, with limited spaces available – so get in quick to save your spot.
This Resourceful Communities event is proudly supported by Queenstown Lakes District Council's Zero Waste District Programme.
