Event description

Add a bit of whimsy to your jewellery collection with some handmade earrings!

Your teacher, Sara, is a collector! From fossils, seeds, stones and wood from the natural world, to human-made glass chandelier droplets, tiny toys, and miniature bottles.

Mix these all together - personal sentiment and playful statements, the trash and the treasure, the lost and the found, the bold and the beautiful - and you've got your own one-of-a-kind earrings.

We'll be using wire wrapping techniques to set our chosen pieces, and learn about different jewellery fixings and tools to create some treasures!

There will be time and materials to make 2-3 pairs.

What will we cover?

In this hands-on class you will learn:

  • Simple techniques for creating unique, eye-catching jewellery
  • How to work with jewellery wire
  • How to use basic jewellery components to create your designs
  • Combine novelty and sentiment to create art you can wear!

What should I bring?

All materials provided, but come with a sense of whimsy and any preferred items you'd like to use in your jewellery making.

Accessibility

  • Wheelchair Accessible Venue
  • Gender Neutral Bathrooms
  • Free Tickets to First Nation Attendees
