MAKE YOUR OWN TALLIT
Event description
No sewing experience is necessary.
Tzizit strings will be provided but please bring:
* 2.5m of fabric to make your tallit
OR
* 2m of fabric to make your tallit PLUS 0.5m or a contrasting colour
It doesn't matter what type of fabric you choose - plain or patterned - so long as it has a nice drape to it.
If the fabric is 'stiff', it won't make a comfortable tallit.
If in doubt, buy cotton.
If you have a sewing machine, please bring it but we will have machines there for you to use if you don't have one.
We will guide you and teach you how to tie your tzizit.
Go home having made your own tallit, creating your own meaning.
