Event description

Get to know Tardi the Tardigrade!

Tardi the Tardigrade is the small but powerful mascot for the Six Extinctions exhibition at the SA Museum! In this hands-on 40-minute workshop, kids will get to make their own colourful silicon tardigrade model to take home and along the way they will learn all about the tiny tardigrade, the ultimate survivor who has survived all 5 mass extinction events.

Using custom 3D printed moulds created by the Museum's 3D design specialist, budding scientists will explore the chemistry of silicon - mixing pigments and non-toxic substances into a quick setting solution to form a squishy tardigrade model.
