Imagine using a leather handbag you made yourself. This workshop is a physical workshop to show you how!  Each workshop has a small limited number of participants to ensure you receive the guidance and instructions required to complete the steps to making your very own handbag.

All tools and the leather required is provided and included in the cost of the workshop.  Your bag making kit includes the basic tools to take home and keep all other equipment will be provided for use on the day and returned at the end of the workshop.

During the workshop you will receive instruction on how to work with the leather in your bag making kit. You will cut your bag, finish the edges, make the stitching marks, use a traditional linen thread and hand sewing method to construct your bag. Each step in the process will be guided with individual assistance.

Past participants have made excellent progress towards completing their bag in the workshop, however there is likely to be a few hours of 'homework' required to fully complete the stitching of your bag.

NB** Before booking please be sure that you are able to attend the full 3 hours allocated for the workshop, so that all the learning steps may be completed. This commitment guarantees your confidence to complete any required homework.

The workshop is held in the inspiring creative space that is The Churn Room in Dayboro a short country drive from the Brisbane CBD.  Make a day of it and have a wander through town and a bite to eat for lunch before attending the workshop.  Please note:  access to the mezzanine is via stairs. 

Cancellation policy: Once your booking confirmation has been sent cancellations are not possible after 30 days prior to the workshop unless due to extenuating circumstances. Should you book and need to cancel after 30 days prior to the workshop you will be offered a place at the next available workshop and your bag kit will be stored on hold for you.
