Maker Clubs: It's Electric! - Grades 6 thru Adult
Event description
Registration includes both dates of this program November 13th and November 20th from 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. and is open to any individual - even adults! - in grades 6 and up. The project takes both sessions to complete and attendees should plan to attend both sessions.
Combine circuitry with fabrication skills such as patterning and sewing to create a "Felt Funster", a creation developed by MIT. Students in this program will:
Design a small stuffed creation and learn hand-sewing and patterning basics
Learn circuitry basics and utilize conductive thread with e-textile electric components to add lights to their creation
At the end of the program, students will take home their creations. Registration includes all materials and instruction.

Prerequisites
Attendees must be able to read at the listed grade level and be able to work in teams and independently. Our student to staff ratio for this club will be 1:6.
FAQ's
Can adults attend this program with their students? Can individual adults register?
Yes - adults are welcome as long as they are a paid and registered participant. Every individual who is registered will be provided materials and instruction. If you are hoping to attend with your student, please be sure to register all attendees. There is not space in the classroom for parents to watch the program.
Do I need to remain on site with my student?
Attendees should not arrive more than 15 minutes before program start and must be picked up within 15 minutes of the program end time. Attendees should be escorted into the building for check-in to verify all paperwork and other sign-in needs are taken care of with a parent / guardian present.
Adults are welcome to remain in the STEM Center in our common areas during this program, but do not need to stay with their student. Please feel free to drop off your student and return at the end of the program.
How do I get to your facility?
We are located at 1444 N Water Street on the MSOE campus. A map and parking information will be sent to all families at least one week prior to your program start date.
My student is an advanced learner - can I enroll them if they are not in the grade level(s) listed?
This event is only available to the grade levels listed. If you have an older student who wishes to join, please contact us.
My student has accommodations that need to be made - who do I contact?
