Event description

The City of PAE is excited to present its monthly workshop series titled Maker + Maker.

Maker + Maker offers a professional exchange of creative knowledge between an expert with individuals seeking new creative experiences. Focusing on the art of making, The City of PAE invites South Australia’s best makers to guide you in creating your own piece of art.

This month's Maker + Maker is with Helen Lawry

Presented by: Port Arts Exchange

Featuring: Helen Lawry, Storyteller and Founder of Three-storey House

Description:

Step into the world of storytelling and creative reflection with Helen Lawry, a seasoned storyteller, story maker, and story gatherer with over 20 years of experience. A graduate of the International School of Storytelling (UK), Helen has performed at iconic venues including the Art Gallery of South Australia, the State Library, and the Botanic Garden, and has created site-specific story-shows for Adelaide Fringe and History Festival.

In this peaceful and focused workshop, Helen invites you to create your own handmade book—your very own “Print Run of One.” Whether it’s a collection of recipes, memories, maps, or moments, this session is about crafting something meaningful and personal. You’ll explore the balance between words and visuals, and be gently guided through the creative process in a supportive environment.

No storytelling experience is needed—just bring your curiosity and a willingness to explore.
