Class Description: Join KCAI alumnus and Kansas City - based artist Dean Kube for a fun, hands-on Makers Moment painting class inspired by the colors, textures, and personality of fall. Guests are invited to enjoy a glass of wine, light bites, and Christopher Elbow Chocolates throughout the evening.

Workshop attendees will learn how to translate observation into a dynamic painting while exploring composition, value, color mixing, layering, brushwork, texture, and expressive mark-making. Demonstrations will focus on building an acrylic painting from an initial drawing and underpainting through successive layers of color, light, shadow, and detail. Rather than simply reproducing the objects in front of you, the workshop encourages to consider mood, atmosphere, and personal interpretation. Attendees will experiment with simplifying forms, pushing color, and allowing expressive brushwork to become part of the finished painting.

All skill levels are welcome. Seats are limited so sign up today!
