Making a difference as a career

Event description

Be inspired, be connected and be empowered.

Intrepid Landcare is hosting monthly skills, stories + stuff sessions to come together to share, connect, learn, plan, and practice with each other and draw on the collective wisdom.

During these sessions, we will explore what is possible when we listen to the needs and draw on the collective wisdom of the Intrepid Landcare community to co-create/co-design our work together.

In December’s session, Elders from the Landcare community will share their story about making a difference as a career.

Working in the environmental sector can look different from sector to sector and even within sectors. Take the agricultural sector - it is very diverse and it doesn’t always entail wearing an Akubra or working on a farm. Then there is the question on how to design a career pathway. For instance, what are some key skills that are translatable between being a Bushcare officer to a policymaker, international aid facilitator and even a CEO?

Hosted by Pam Robinson OAM and Sophia Basgasting, you will hear from four amazing Elders and be invited to ask questions during a Q+A.

We will share more about the Elders leading up to the event. What we can tell you is that they carved inspiring and rewarding careers and have maintained a close connection with Landcare throughout their lives.

When: Thursday 3rd December, 7:00pm - 8:30pm AEDT

Where: via Zoom (We will share a Zoom link once you register).
