Dr Kim Cunio, ANU School of Music and the Flowers of Peace are delighted
to invite you to a panel discussion about the making of the 'POW Requiem', and in particular how culture has helped to explain these events to us.
- 1pm to 2pm
- Larry Sitsky Recital Room, ANU School of Music, Canberra
- Free to attend with unreserved seating
The panel will comprise makers and those with an intimate knowledge of some of the stories portrayed within the POW Requiem:
- Sir Jonathan Mills AO FRSE, composer and son of a Sandakan Surgeon, Dr Frank Mills AO
- Neil Pigot, actor and custodian of the Changi Songbook
- Helen Musa, arts and culture journalist with a family connection to the city of Sandakan
- Dr Riley Lee, first non Japanese Grand Master of the shakuhachi and soloist in the ‘POW Requiem’
- Christopher Latham OAM, Director of the Flowers of Peace
