Making Seed Trays from Pallets, Albany House, Saturday 14 September, 2 pm -4 pm

Event description

Proudly supported by Upper Harbour Local Board!

Learn how to build a seed tray from upcycled heat treated pallet timber.  Wooden seed trays are great for sowing seeds and growing plants. They look beautiful too.

You will leave with your own seed tray and you will have the chance to plant some spring seedlings too.

In this workshop, you will learn how to:

  • deconstruct a pallet
  • identify which pallets are heat treated and can be used to grow food in.
  • use a jig saw, drill and sander in detail
  • access tools in a sustainable, circular way
  • identify the wood variation in different pallets
  • make a wooden seed tray from pallet timber.

Please wear covered shoes and tightish clothes.  You will be working outside so dress for the weather conditions and bring a drink bottle/ snacks.

Please note that you need to arrive at this workshop for the beginning of class and the health and safety briefing to be able to take part in the rest of the class.

Please bring gardening gloves for pallet deconstruction.

* Please note children are not able to attend with parents due to health and safety requirements.
