Event description

In this workshop, you will learn to make a seed tray from pallets and make and leave with an upcycled Bokashi Bin.

You will learn how to use a drill and jigsaw so that you can DIY at home with small power tools.  

The ReCreators will also teach you how to make your own zing. Zing is the material that helps promote fermentation in your bokashi bin,

which helps transform your kitchen waste into good nutrition for your garden!

When: Saturday 6 August 10am - 1pm 

Where: Te Atatu Peninsula Community Centre, 595 Te Atatu Road, Te Atatu Peninsula, Auckland. 0610.

All participants must wear covered shoes and non-flowing clothing (tight-ish!). Some work may be outdoors, please wear a sun hat and sunscreen if outdoors.



* Please note children are not able to attend with parents due to health and safety requirements.

Please note that you need to arrive at this workshop for the beginning of class and the health and safety briefing to be able to take part in the rest of the class.

The workshop will provide the following

  • Health and Safety Briefing
  • Instructions to build the seed tray
  • Step by step use of all tools
  • Where to extend yourself for tools 102
  • Personal attention where required
