FOLD: Book Making Workshop with Olivia Arnold

Sydney based artist Olivia Arnold leads this hands on workshop in creating your own artist book. Drawing on her practice of observational and meditative drawing, Arnold will guide participants through short, accessible drawing exercises, engaging with the workshop environment at Eva by noticing and documenting its light, objects and interior architecture.

From there, Arnold introduces the technique of stab book binding, combining these drawings with selections of found papers and any paper based materials participants have brought along into a bound artist book to take home.

Once your book is bound, you'll have the opportunity to fill its pages further with photographs, collage and other elements. Bring your own printed photographs or keepsakes to incorporate, or choose from a selection of images and materials provided during the workshop.

Whether you're interested in documenting memories, exploring visual storytelling, or simply trying something new, this workshop offers a space to experiment and make something uniquely your own.

On arrival: Complimentary snacks and hand crafted tea brewed for the event.

Please bring: Any printed photographs, images, or paper ephemera you'd like to include in your book (optional). A selection of book-making materials will also be provided.
