Making Waves Game Audio Festival
Description
Making Waves is a new Sydney showcase and social event celebrating the work of local game music composers and sound designers.
What Does the Event Involve?
Making Waves will showcase a hand-picked festival lineup of local games, played in hi fidelity music studios at Forbes St Studios. The game's composer or audio creative teams will be on-hand to provide live commentary as the game is being played, sharing some of their audio choices, challenges and learnings.
The keynote presentation for Making Waves is an interactive, behind-the-scenes presentation from Extra Lives: the international video game concert now touring Australia and NZ. Learn how the band designed this interactive, world-first musical RPG experience (and don't miss their full length performance at Fortress on Thursday Oct 15!).
The event will also feature short workshop sessions and talks, plus space to grab a drink and food while meeting others. We'll end the day with a social mixer.
Who's Behind It?
Making Waves is being organised by a small volunteer committee who are part of Sydney Game Audio (join the Discord here!). The event forms part of Sydney Games Festival (check out the full lineup here).
