A day to experience the newest architectural developments in Parramatta and hear from the Western Sydney design community.
Panel 1: Making Greater Sydney | 2:15-3pm
Making Greater Sydney explores the conditions – climatic, historical, demographic and more – that make Western Sydney the region it is today and into the future. Panellists include Rae Dufty Jones, Marni Reti, Mark Tyrrell and Dr Rhonda Itaoui. Hosted by Jessica Olivieri.
Panel 2: A Seat at the Table | 3:15-4pm
A Seat at the Table explores the role of food as the cornerstone of a multicultural society. Speakers will examine how food raises critical questions around production, consumption and identity. Panellists include Dr Sukhmani Khorana, Lina Jebeile, Marjorie Tenchavez. Hosted by Sheila Ngọc Phạm.
Panel 3: Made in Western Sydney | 4:15-5pm
A unique, grass-roots view of cutting-edge creativity in action, this panel brings together some of western Sydney’s ground-breaking designers and makers from the fields of photography, video, new media, urban and industrial product design to discuss the specificity and universality of their perspectives.
Panel 4: From Paris to Parramatta | 5:30-6:15pm
Principal architects Moreau Kusunoki and Genton discuss the design development of Powerhouse Parramatta.
