Te Urukahika: Mana College's New Block, a Construction Site Visit

The Ministry of Education & Mana College are building Te Urukahkia, a new block for the students of Mana College in Porirua.

Join us to get a tour of the site and an update on this cool new project.

ABOUT THE PROJECT: 

• Mana College is a secondary school in Takapuwhaia, Porirua. Mana had a role of approx 500 in 2024 and is growing. The redevelopment of Mana College is just one part of this Government’s ambitious regeneration project in Porirua.
• This project is in the construction stage.
• The project is the replacement of three outdated blocks with a new fit-for purpose multi-use classroom block. Ultimately the block will have specialist science and technology spaces; a bespoke special-needs hub (Te Whare Ako); a beautifully landscaped central spine. This is one part of the wider re-vamp of the Mana College campus.
• The Ministry of Education is the client for this project. On the day the project team will give a quick overview of the project and school, with a tour of the new facility and explanation of the site.

COST: FREE to NAWIC members, 30 people – 2x Groups of 15 so please book your space consciously. Anyone is welcome to join NAWIC here.

BRING: Full PPE is required. Hard Hat, High vis jacket/vest, Steel capped Boots and Eye protection
