Join us for this special session delivered by Justice Connect’s Not-for-profit Law program. Justice Connect specialise in providing legal help and support to not-for-profit organisations, to help make sense of the law, stay legally compliant, thrive within complexity, and achieve good governance.
This interactive and practical session will be customised for volunteer-involving organisations and designed to encourage questions, discussion, and active involvement from participants. Registered participants will receive all resources/workbook and a recording of the webinar accessible for 3 months. After attending this training, volunteer managers/coordinators can spend less time navigating complex legal requirements and more time doing what you do best – helping the community thrive!
An in-depth, interactive exploration of the topics outlined below, with small breakout sessions for participants to workshop legal issues, discuss scenarios, and problem-solve as a group.
- Overview of discrimination laws, safety, screening checks, and privacy law
- Case studies to guide discussion on diversity and the law
- Practical tips on balancing your legal obligations to make volunteering more inclusive

This meeting will be held via Zoom. the link is available in the Humanitix email ticket. Participants do not have to setup a Zoom account to attend the session, but you will need to download a small application file (download here) if you haven’t used Zoom on your computer before. For the best experience, please join the Zoom meeting by clicking on the link 5-10 minutes before the session’s scheduled start time to allow time to get setup and troubleshoot technical issues such as sound and video.
