Course Overview

Unfair dismissal claims lodged with the Fair Work Commission have skyrocketed during the coronavirus crisis, increasing by 70 per cent over the last few months. This is a cost that businesses can not afford at the best of times, let alone at a time when the majority of businesses are struggling to survive financially.

With shutdowns, stand downs and working from home, businesses have had to adapt quickly to a new ‘business as usual’. With amendments to over 100 Modern Awards, special Pandemic Leave, JobKeeper legislation and countless other directives, employers are working with their staff in new ways. While many of those who do have a job are working hard to keep it, sometimes, there is uncooperative behaviour or plain refusal by staff to take on tasks or deliver on accountabilities. So how do you turn this around or at the extreme, manage them lawfully out of the business.

This raises many questions for employers on how to manage staff that are exhibiting difficult behaviours. How do you manage performance when you are not face-to-face in the workplace, or indeed, can’t even get a response from the employee at home.

Join the legal experts for this one-day online training that will provide you with the tools and tips to manage difficult employees in difficult times. Understand your legal rights and obligations as an employer and avoid an unfair dismissal case and or other forms of legal proceedings you just can’t afford.

Places are limited and each participant will receive a training pack prior to the day.
