Mānava Breathwork & Cacao Ceremony

Together with my partner Lauren we would like to invite you to join us for a beautiful evening of Breathwork and Cacao, where we will reconnect to our inner selves through a somatic breathwork technique and sacred ceremonial cacao rituals. 

This magical evening is an opportunity to explore the depths of your being in a safe and sacred environment using the breath as medicine.

Our spaces are created with intention, beautifully designed to welcome, support and hold you in connecting back to your authentic self. 

THE MĀNAVA STORY

MĀNAVA is the Samoan word for breathing. Being of Samoan descent, we incorporate not only my culture, but also other cultures from around the world in the spaces we create. 

In 2020 The Locker Room Barbershop was born, dedicated to mens mental health. I wanted to create a safe space for others to communicate openly and vulnerably, as you would in a  'Locker Room', free from judgement. A place where you can be "you" without the many masks we all wear.

Since our opening in 2020 we have held space for a multitude of people in different capacities, but our community was in need of something more, so I placed myself in different environments to not only heal my own story, but to go in search of the missing piece of the puzzle I was looking for. This is when I discovered Breathwork. The tool that changed my life forever. I realised this tool was far too powerful to keep to myself so I dedicated my time to learning from the best in Australia, so that I could bring this medicine back to my community here in Canberra. And so MĀNAVA was born. 

MEET YOUR FACILITATORS:

We are Daniel and Lauren, a loving couple devoted to creating and holding sacred spaces to facilitate connection and belonging, with a shared horizon of being in service to others and aiding in their healing & self discovery journeys. Having navigated our own challenges, as many do, we have acquired various modalities and knowledge along the way that we feel honoured to share. 
We are so excited to share this space and medicine with you.

Whether you're seeking clarity, self discovery, emotional healing, or simply a relaxing rejuvenating experience , this event promises to leave you feeling grounded, connected and uplifted. Come and join us and awaken your senses to the magic within.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

We will begin with a heart opening cacao ceremony, with the intention to take us out of our minds and drop us into our hearts.

In a safe and sacred space, you will then be guided and supported through emotional healing and introspection, while discovering the power of your breath, sound and the heart-opening benefits of cacao. 

The combination of breathwork and ceremonial cacao facilitates a transformative experience inviting you to connect deeper into your heart, intuition and body’s wisdom, allowing you to release old wounds, fears and limitations.

CACAO CEREMONY:

Cacao ceremonies are a spiritual practice that invite us to connect deeper into our hearts and with ourselves. When used in reverence and with gratitude, Cacao is a powerful heart-opening medicine, facilitating a deeper connection to yourself and your intuition.

Cacao is an ancient medicinal plant, rich in minerals, known for its dense nutritional content and has been shown to aid the production of serotonin (the “feel good” hormone).

Cacao grows on the Theobroma tree, translated in greek to "food of the gods".

SATURDAY 30 NOVEMBER, 6.30 - 9PM

EXCHANGE: $79 

WHAT TO BRING: blanket, pillow (if your wish), eye mask, water bottle, comfortable warm clothing, an open mind and heart 

WHERE: Wild Studio, 25 Dundas Court, Phillip, ACT 

PREPARATION: Keep well hydrated throughout the day. Eat a light meal at least two hours before to avoid having a full stomach.

We are so excited to share this space and medicine with you.

Please honour the start time so that we can respect the space. The doors will be closed promptly, to ensure a peaceful and safe environment for all attendees. We look forward to meeting you and sharing this afternoon together.


CONTRAINDICATIONS:

Please consider that breathwork may not be for everyone especially those with cardiovascular problems, severe mental health conditions, pregnancy, recent surgery or physical injuries, epilepsy or significant lung issues.

Please reach out if you have any questions relating to these contraindications. We can alter the breath for certain medical conditions so don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Upon the purchase of your ticket you agree that you do not have any of the above contraindications and have sought advice from your doctor and ourselves. 

REFUNDS:

Tickets are non refundable however you can gift your ticket to a friend or family member who may benefit from a beautiful afternoon of connection. Tickets may be changed to another date up to but no later than 48 hours prior to the events start date.
