Manly Cove Walk: Welcome to Wherever You Are
Event description
Join artists Edmund Mooney and Glynis Rigsby on an artist-led sound walk. Listen to a brief history of the practice and engage in a listening meditation, followed by an hour-long silent exploration of the immediate surroundings of the Gallery. Walking silently turns us into more effective listening devices! The walk will culminate back at the gallery in an artist led group discussion with participants, about the experience.
Enjoy some light refreshments afterwards, then stay for the Curators in Conversation event for Welcome to Wherever You Are, starting at 2pm. Don’t forget to wear comfortable and perhaps quiet shoes.
Glynis Rigsby is a director, educator, and intimacy choreographer based in New York City. She has directed for
PROTOYPE, The Opera Project, Yale Center for British Art and HERE, among others. Currently Associate Professor at
the New School College of Performing Arts, she has been engaged in scholarship and practice around intimacy work in
entertainment since 2014. Edmund Mooney is an inter-disciplinary artist with a varied practice of still and time based work filtered through a lens of urban history and ecology.
