MAP YOUR FARM - A Workshop in the Busting Blackberries Series

Dive into the basics of creating a farm map to enhance your farm planning and weed management.

Farm maps are an ideal way to enhance the management of resources, sustainable practices and planning decisions on your property. Their numerous benefits include detailed visualisation and analysis of your property for weed, water, land class and grazing management. They can also help you to track soil health, allocate resources and collect critical farm data.

Come along and learn how to map your weeds, paddocks, infrastructure and hydrology, make calculations, as well as how to save, share and print your map. All you need is a property, laptop and a Google account.

This free workshop consists of a 1 day face to face workshop and is followed up with an online support webinar.

IN THIS WORKSHOP YOU WILL LEARN:

How to use Google Earth and Google Maps
How to create a base layer with boundary fences
How to create weed, infrastructure, paddock and hydrology layers
How to perform calculations using your map's data
How to save, share and print your map

WHEN & WHERE

Tuesday 3rd June, 9:30am-12:30pm, Kergunyah Memorial Hall, Kergunyah. Please arrive at 9:15am for registration and to set up your laptop.

Morning tea will be provided
Physical Fitness level required: EASY ( Sitting for a period of 2 hours or more required)

Tuesday 17th June, 1:30pm-3pm, from the comfort of your own home. The webinar link will be emailed prior to the event.

WHAT TO BRING

Your laptop with your Google account already set-up.
If you are unwell on the day please remain at home in consideration of the health of others

While we are able to cater for vegetarian options at our events it is difficult to cater for every dietary requirement due to our limited funding. If you have dietary requirements outside of this please bring your own food and drink.
