Event description
MapNet2023 will be held November 22–24 in Dunedin, New Zealand, at the University of Otago (22 November) and AgResearch Invermay (23-24 November).
Wednesday - Auahi Ora room in the University Union, University of Otago
The Wednesday afternoon session is co-hosted by Genomics Aotearoa which concludes with drinks and nibbles (4:30pm – 6pm)
Thursday/Friday - Cullen Conference Room, AgResearch Invermay near Mosgiel
Registration cost includes the conference dinner on Thursday Night, in Dunedin City.
MapNet2023 themes include primary sector genotyping and breeding, ecological, evolutionary & population genomics, Māori kaupapa/Te Ao Māori into genetics/genomics teaching and research, microbial genomics, eDNA, epigenomics, methodology advances in bioinformatics and statistical genetics, human & health genomics and student talks.
MapNet is a group of New Zealand-based molecular and quantitative geneticists from organisations involved in research related to genomics. It was started in 2005 to ensure cross-sector interactions. The primary role of MapNet is to ‘encourage pre-commercial, cross-sector, gene mapping related R&D in a range of organisms valuable to NZ’s economy, ecology and culture’.
