Description

Join us for the MAPPSAA 2026 Summit as we explore how wellbeing can be intentionally designed into our lives, workplaces, and communities. This year's theme, Designing Wellbeing, brings together leading voices in positive psychology and applied wellbeing to share practical insights and evidence-based strategies. We're thrilled to welcome guest speakers Reuben Rusk and Craig Casey, who will share their expertise on building flourishing lives by design.

Following the summit, you are invited to stay for the University of Melbourne 500th MAPP graduate celebration from 3pm-5pm.

Don't miss this opportunity to connect, learn, and reimagine what wellbeing can look like for you and those around you.

Your ticket includes: arrival tea or coffee from the wonderful Jeepsy coffee van (bring your keep cup), morning tea and lunch, plus all of the activities for the day.

Lineup

  • Keynote Speaker - Reuben Rusk

    Keynote Speaker - Reuben Rusk

Reuben shares science-based insights to help individuals, leaders, and teams work at their best. Holding a PhD from the University of Melbourne, he is an experienced presenter with over 15 years of experience in well-being and leadership science. Reuben’s work has been published in academic journals and pioneered systems-based approaches to individual and team flourishing. With a background in engineering, Reuben offers unique perspectives on well-being, leadership, and organisational culture. Over the past decade, he has collaborated with diverse organisations across New Zealand and Australia. At the University of Melbourne, he has contributed to teaching Well-being Leadership and the Masters of Applied Positive Psychology. Reuben is dedicated to creating enduring positive change by shaping psychological, social, and physical environments to influence key behaviours, thoughts, and experiences. He believes leaders play a pivotal role in cultivating these environments and is passionate about improving performance and well-being through research-based approaches.

  • Keynote Speaker - Craig Casey

Craig Cassey is a relationship, intimacy, and leadership coach, researcher, and speaker whose work explores how people build relationships that are both emotionally secure and erotically alive. He recently completed his Master of Applied Positive Psychology at the University of Melbourne, where his capstone research introduced Love Crafting — a novel framework integrating Self-Determination Theory, attachment science, relationship maintenance research, and wellbeing science to help couples intentionally cultivate thriving relationships. Craig’s work sits at the intersection of positive psychology, sexuality, attachment, and relational wellbeing. Alongside his academic research, he has spent nearly a decade coaching individuals and couples on intimacy, desire, authenticity, and relational growth through his coaching practice, Coaching Naked. He is currently preparing to begin a PhD at Australian Catholic University with the Institute for Positive Psychology and Education (IPPE), where his research will explore how romantic partners support or thwart one another’s basic psychological needs in everyday relationship dynamics. His planned research program includes a meta-analysis, dyadic diary methods, observational relationship research, and intervention development aimed at improving relationship quality and wellbeing.
