Event description

Mara

Mara is a composer and curator based in Eora Sydney. She plays the viola and collaborates with her laptop to create live performances and recorded pieces for film, dance, and gallery spaces. Her work is led by the shifts of perspective and interaction of rhythms and beings within environments. Mara's most recent album At Every Corner "is a testament to her deep connection to time, place and community, as well as her skill in transforming everyday sounds into immersive auditory constructs."

T.Morimoto

Thomas Smith is an Eora/Sydney based artist, musician, educator and researcher. His practice combines performance, video, electronic music, speculative fiction, websites, curatorial projects and critical writing. Thomas’ work is concerned with the social effects of computational systems, the politics of creative economies, emerging digital subjectivities and electronic music as a mode critical-aesthetic inquiry.

Forca

An electro acoustic collaboration rooted in the varied musical upbringings of its three members, Forca blends classical structure and instrumentation with modern production and sound design. With a palette that spans ambient field recordings, sweeping string arrangements and experimental rhythms, Forca creates music that is intimate, grand and emotional.

LMDZ

Luke M de Zilva is an Eora-based musician, composer and the presenter of Surfacing on fbi.radio. He has performed at, and created works for, the likes of Dark Mofo, the Art Gallery of NSW, the University of Technology, Sydney, Sydney Festival amongst other Australian and international programs. As LMDZ, Luke presents live mixes of mostly Australian musicians, collating, sampling and abstracting their work to create a series of new ‘collaborations’ between the featured artists.
