Margaret’s Glenning Valley Permablitz - April
Event description
Margaret’s backyard is ready for a big transformation—from a typical suburban garden filled with ornamentals into a productive permaculture food oasis! We’re rolling up our sleeves to replace high-maintenance decorative plants with fruit trees, herbs, and edible perennials that will provide food, shade, and biodiversity for years to come.
Margaret’s garden is getting a big refresh, and we need your hands to help make it happen! This Permablitz is all about transformation—giving plants new homes, reshaping garden spaces, and setting up a more productive and beautiful backyard through permaculture principles.
🌿 What will you learn?
✨ Location, location, location – Hands on demonstrations on where to plant fruit trees and how to transplant them.
✨ Designing Paths & Beds – Creating new paths and tidying up the space to create structure and flow in the garden.
✨ Building Soil & Supporting Growth – Planting fruit trees, herbs, and climbers, setting up natural erosion control, and improving soil health.
✨ Backyard Revamp – Weeding, replanting, and laying fresh turf to improve high-use areas.
This is a great opportunity to learn how to transition a traditional backyard into a productive permaculture space—from plant selection to soil-building and edible garden design.
🌞 Come along, get your hands dirty, and learn how to bring any garden to life!
