    Event description

    Maribyrnong River Therapy

You are warmly invited to spend World Rivers Day with us on the shores of the Maribyrnong River at Afton Street Conservation Reserve, Essendon West.

There is a quietness that settles when we simply tune in to the flow of water on the banks of the river. We will share simple mindful moving and sensing strategies that promote nature connection, relaxation, stress reduction, and mental clarity. Sensory attunement can bring awareness to the fluid nature of ourselves providing openings for us to soften and be more present. This process can be highly restorative.

As well as engaging in experiential practices we will also take time to reflect on the many values of our rivers. Rivers in virtually every country face an array of threats, and only through our active involvement can we ensure their health in the years ahead.

We hope this practice and reflection session will not only enhance personal health but will also foster deeper connections and stewardship towards rivers as living entities that require protection and love. Details are as follows:

    Date: Sunday September 22nd
Time: 10am - 11.30am (meet in the carpark)
    Place:
Afton Street Conservation Reserve, 58 Afton Street, Essendon West

    No experience necessary.

We look forward to immersing with you in the transformative power of the Maribyrnong River.
