Sun, 24 Nov, 2pm - 4pm NZDT

Event description

These workshops will be a crash course in marine invertebrate zoology to start you down the road of how to identify some of the resident animals of Whakaraupō / Lyttelton Harbour and learn about their ecological roles.

You will look at some live animals in microscopes and work on identifying them together. The target audience for this is people who are curious or excited about marine invertebrates, but you do not need to have any prior knowledge (you don’t need to know a tunicate from a toenail—we will teach you!).

• We love our tamariki, but this workshop is not intended for children. We recommend ages 16+

• No experience required: this workshop is geared to people who do not have lots of prior knowledge of marine invertebrates

• Active participation: expect to be working in small teams and looking in microscopes

Spaces are limited to 12 people maximum. To learn more about Joyce's project Whakaraupō Fauna do visit:
