Event description

Following on from our grower workshop series and subsequent report in late 2024, the Pūtake Whakatupu (Foundation for Growth) project is now well underway, and the Tuputupu Grow Northland team are keen to share our latest updates.

Our initial workshop series highlighted our vision for Taitokerau Northland's people and environment to thrive through adaptation and innovation, leading to sustainable and optimal land use, commercialisation of new opportunities, and development of value-added products and manufacturing.

Through the information collected at the workshops and wider engagement with the Northland food and fibre sector, the team has worked closely with a Project Steering Group to select nine crops and commission Market Opportunity Studies prepared by external consultants. These reports will be published in September, analysing the potential of new crops for Northland.

We look forward to presenting these reports at this workshop and welcome your feedback and insights on next steps for the Pūtake Whakatupu project.
