Martha Graham Dance Class BEGINNER
Event description
This BEGINNER level class will focus on the fundamentals of Graham technique and show how to use these fundamentals to express emotion through the body. Using contraction, release, spiral and shift of weight, we will begin with the floor and progress to standing and finally moving through space. We will also take these fundamentals and use them to create gestures with the body, giving us the ability to tell complex emotional stories through movement.
WHEN: Saturday March 15 at NOON
WHERE: Marcus Performing Arts Center
WHO: Open to dancers 13 and up
What should you wear? No shoes needed, and any clothing you can move in(preferably dance-oriented).
This workshop is FREE! Each participant will receive TWO tickets to the performance on March 15.
