A Reading, Keynote Talk and Q and A with 2024 Mary Higgins Clark Chair, Saladin Ahmed
Saladin Ahmed is an Eisner award-winning comic book / science fiction / fantasy writer and poet who has garnered critical and popular acclaim for both his original works and his innovative takes on beloved story worlds from Marvel to DC to Star Wars. Ahmed's first novel, the medieval Islam-inspired fantasy THRONE OF THE CRESCENT MOON, won the Locus Award for Best First Novel. His first comic, Marvel's BLACK BOLT, won the Eisner Award for Best New Series. Soon afterward ABBOTT, an original comics series set in 1970s Detroit, was nominated for the Bram Stoker Award and named a Michigan Notable Book. Ahmed’s current projects include DAREDEVIL for Marvel Comics, the audio series BATMAN UNBURIED for Spotify, and the creator-owned comics STARSIGNS and TERRORWAR, published by Image Comics.
