Yamel Cucuy: The Screening!
Event description
What better time to screen Yamel Cucuy for our friends, colleagues, loved ones, and kindred spirits than the day after Día de los Muertos? Maybe you saw it at Ground Floor Theatre last October or maybe you missed it and you're DYING to see it this time around. Either way, we hope you can join us Friday, November 3rd in the Jones Auditorium on the St. Edward's University campus.
Once the House Opens at 7pm, you can…
- See the live puppets in action (El Viejo, Las Lloronas, and La Lechuza will be roaming around!)
- Try your hand at Shadow Puppetry
- Join the Raffle to win some goodies from City Alchemist or a Shadow Puppet from the Original Production
- Check out vintage GHFT Merch Sale
- Talkback with the award-winning* team, including Writers, Director, Performers, Music and Media Team, and our Resident Expert on Magia and Mictlan. Talkback hosted by Carl Gonzales.
The screening begins at 7:30pm.
This is a free and public event co-produced by the Mary Moody Northen Theatre and funded in part by the Economic Development Department of the City of Austin. Donations are always welcome :)
