Maslin Creek and Its Awesome Reed Swamp

Event description

The Maslin Creek Reed Swamp in McLaren Vale is the largest remnant reed swamp in greater Adelaide. It is of high ecological and cultural value. It is awesome. It is exquisite. It is unique.

For the past decade Gavin Malone. Land Steward has been regenerating a 4 ha portion of the swamp at Lot50-Kanyanyapilla (L50K), see https://lot50kanyanyapilla.com/. Swamp health goes beyond one property and Biodiversity McLaren Vale (BMV) is focusing on the entire swamp and the creek upstream over the next decade. Creek regeneration is already underway at Fox Creek Wines. Come and learn about and enjoy this inspiring waterway health project.

Meet at Fox Creek Wines to see their creek regeneration and hear about BMV’s ambition. Then travel over to L50K for a Walk n Talk with Gavin along the swamp edge. Lastly, take refreshments courtesy of Fox Creek at the Swamp Deck at L50K, nestled amongst the tall, sometimes swaying and singing, 3 metre tall reeds.
