Master Class: Foundation in Acting

This course lays the foundation to being an actor. Over the four hours you will learn the fundamentals on how to be true in the moment; how to quickly analyse a scene; all the while retain a sense of joy, humour and abandon. This class suits moderately experienced actors eager to revitalise their approach, as well as complete beginners who want to learn from the ground up.

Founder of the Sydney Actors Playhouse, Mike Booth brings a unique perspective that cuts to the very essence of what it means to perform. With a focus on the primary tools of communication, Mike’s approach employs a practical and philosophical system enabling the student to understand acting with immediate results.

11:00-12:45  -    The Act

• an enlightening guided conversation on the essence of what acting actually is

13:00-15:00   -   The Process

• performing on the floor with pre-memorised scripts
