Masterclass: Co-regulating with your Autistic child
Event description
Reframing Autism invites you to join Dr Melanie Heyworth for a masterclass on practical parenting approaches to co-regulation. Co-regulation is the practice of using your own calm and regulated emotions to help to influence your child's self, emotional regulation during periods of "big emotions". In this afternoon workshop we'll discuss the neuroscience underpinning self-regulation, and learn how our own regulation is a powerful predictor of our children's ability to self-regulate, as well as addressing practical ways to regulate ourselves as parents.
Please note: this Masterclass is not an introduction to Autism, and a level of knowledge about Autism and neurodiversity will be assumed. We recommend that you undertake Reframing Autism's [introductory link] before enrolling in Masterclass opportunities.
If you are unable to attend this Masterclass at the scheduled time, please note that it will be recorded. A link (valid for 30 days after the event) will be sent to all attendees after the Masterclass concludes, so that you may watch it at a time that is suitable for you.
Did you know? If your child has an NDIS plan that includes a budget line for parent education, and you are plan- or self-managed, you can claim your registration costs for Reframing Autism events from your child’s NDIS funding.
