    Event description

Is your home a sanctuary for your Autistic family members? Our buildings and built environment can be sources of confusion and sensory overload for Autistic people, leading to high levels of stress and anxiety. Join Shelly Dival on Friday 15 March for an enlightening exploration of how to make our built environment a supportive place for your Autistic children. What you will gain from this workshop:

    • Ideas, tips and hints to parents on how to make simple changes to your home, so that you and your child can relax and enjoy their environment.
    • Comprehensive checklist to assess spaces in your home from a different perspective and tailor it to your child's unique needs, reducing stress and supporting their sensory needs.
    • Shopping information, including tips on how and where parents can source effective products for your home.

Shelly Dival is a Churchill Fellow with over 25 years of building design experience. She combines this with specialised expertise in leading practice architectural strategies for autism and other neurodiversity, informed by research. Shelly would love to see “A world where people with neurodiversity thrive at home, work and play. Where our built environment supports this so everyone can reach for their stars and nobody is left behind”.

A link to the Zoom workshop will be emailed to you prior to the event.

If you are unable to attend this Masterclass at the scheduled time, please note that it will be recorded. A link (valid for 30 days after the event) will be sent to all attendees the next business day after the Masterclass concludes, so that you may watch it at a time that is suitable for you.
