Masterclass in Learning Facilitation (Online)
Event description
Raise your facilitation game in a special masterclass
Have you made the shift from face to face to digital facilitation but find your Zoom lacks a little va-va-voom?
Perhaps an activity knocked their socks off in the real world but it’s not quite hitting the spot in your Teams meet ups now?
Wouldn’t you love to get your hands on a great range facilitation tools that take real world activities into the digital realm?
But they need to be cost effective! They need to be tried and tested! And most of all – you need to be able to learn to use them in more than just theory – we’re talking hands-on, “let’s give it try right now!” stuff!!
Well, it’s time to go from bore to awe with your digital facilitation with an expert who has been called an ‘artist’ of the profession.
Helen Palmer has taken her incredible face to face facilitation skills and done all the translation and experimentation for you. What has emerged is an opportunity to access her facilitation know-how in the online landscape.
From how she prepares for facilitation, to the right activities to help your audiences walk away ready to act, Helen provides insights and advice, as well as sharing her experiences as she has personally tested the tools she is sharing.
In two half-day sessions, you’ll learn how to take your powerpoint to powerhouse – all without expensive online software packages or fancy technical tricks. This is about tools you can access today and start using and experiencing during the session – so you’ll hit the ground running with skills to thrill everyone in your next learning event.
What you get
2 x 3.5hr sessions with Helen – and the medium is the message!
Part 1: Tue 9 May, 9:30am-1:00pm + Part 2: Tue 16 May,1:00-4:30pm (AEST)
You will be experiencing different interactive tools throughout this learning so you know just what it’s like to be a part of a session facilitated with these techniques and tools. Your experience of the learning activities will follow the pattern of starting a session; during a session; and finishing a session. What's special about these activities is the focus on content to be taught and explored rather than a process of creating outputs.
Inroduction to a metaverse experience with FrameVR
In Part 2, experience learning by acting within a metaverse environment using Frame VR. This is accessed via a web-browser and no special equipment is needed. Discover what is possible and how easy it can be to use digital space creatively - powering your learning facilitation to a whole new level of wonder!
Online Resource Centre
Helen provides a learning centre that she stacks full of real and relevant information to help you not just get started, but keep succeeding. In the true spirit of experimentation that Helen embraces, she provides not only what the masterclass covers, but responds to your questions and needs throughout. Learning from her vast and diverse facilitation experiences is half the fun, and her generous sharing makes this online resource centre an Aladdin’s cave of wonder!
BYO a challenge – got an offline activity that just doesn’t seem to translate to the digital world?
This masterclass is the perfect opportunity to connect with other professionals, tap into the wisdom of the room, and access Helen’s treasure trove of ideas to bring your offline brilliance into online glory!
FREE GIFT – who doesn’t love a gift, and this one is a corker!
